pre-weathered wood cladding

Wood cladding can be left unfinished. This is known as unfinished wood. If, on the other hand, you want to give your facade special protection and aesthetic appeal, you use wood cladding with a finish.

Saturators are a type of finish for wood cladding. Saturators are available in a range of shades to bring elegance and style to all facades. At Sivalbp, we offer 3 ranges of saturators.

What are the different types of saturators for wood cladding?

Wood tones saturators

Our Elegance range offers colours that respect the natural accents of wood.  These wood tones saturators will delight unconditional wood lovers with a palette of warm, authentic wood tones. Wood cladding is protected for the long term, while preserving its aesthetic appearance and the specific characteristics of each wood species.

Pre-weathered saturators

Our New Age range has been conceived and designed to anticipate the natural greying of wood, while preserving its natural appearance. Left untreated, wood naturally greys. To support the natural greying of wood evenly over time, we've designed a range of saturators in trendy, contemporary shades of grey. A façade dressed in a pre-weathered saturator will add a bright, contemporary touch.

Dark saturants

Our Vintage range is dedicated to our dark saturators. Our beautiful matt black shades will delight lovers of burnt wood and irresistible old wood accents. For a resolutely contemporary façade, the charm of contemporary black is making a strong comeback in architecture.

Saturator: a long-lasting finish

Applying a saturator finish preserves the authenticity and natural appearance of the wood.

Wood cladding finishes such as solvent-free saturators are non-film-forming solutions that penetrate deep into the wood to enhance its natural appearance and provide lasting protection against UV and weathering.

Saturators allow you to anticipate changes in wood colour. Saturators are suitable for both vertical and horizontal wood cladding.

Saturators for wood cladding are water-based solutions, composed mainly of water. This type of finish has the advantage of being an environmentally-friendly solution.

At Sivalbp, all our wood tones, pre-weathered and dark saturators are applied to naturally durable, PEFC-certified wood species (PEFC/10-31-1593).

The saturator: easy maintenance at a controlled cost

The advantage of saturated finishes is that they require very little maintenance. Saturated finishes do not flake, and do not need to be stripped or sanded.

The aesthetic evolution of wood cladding varies according to the geographical area and the orientation of the facades. Without maintenance, saturated wood cladding will turn a natural grey.

To maintain the original appearance of the cladding, simply apply a saturator every 5 to 8 years on average.

The original look of wood, ecological, durable and easy to maintain, saturator ticks all the boxes when it comes to dressing up your facades!

How do you restore wood cladding?

To preserve the aesthetics of your facades, here is some information about the maintenance of our cladding. Depending on how old your cladding is, you will need to carry out the necessary maintenance.

If you simply want to restore your Sivalbp saturator to its original shine, clean your cladding first and then apply a new coat of saturator.

For wood cladding that has turned grey over time, it is advisable to use a woodstain remover before cleaning and applying a new Sivalbp saturator.
