Wood cladding for the urban renovation of flat blocks

Clad in Sivalbp wood cladding, focus on the design project for 55 multi-family dwellings in Cergy in the Val-d'Oise département (95).

Located in the heart of the Croix Petit district in Cergy-Pontoise (95), this urban regeneration project is being carried out by Foncière Logement & Linkcity and the project management team Cussac Architectes, Bouygues Bâtiment, BET: COTEC (Generalist).

This timber construction project is part of the fourth phase of progress on the housing development and urban renewal project (Lot A2) in the Croix Petit district.

Construction of Larch wood cladding for multi-family housing: for durable, attractive façades with Euroclass C protection

For the multi-family housing project, the top floor of the building was clad in our Elegance range of wood cladding in Larch, in our Nature 107 saturator (the previous colour has been replaced by our Malt 112 and Ombré 113 saturators).

The wood-clad façade blends harmoniously into the landscape.

Wood cladding offers a number of advantages for cladding flats and houses.

The advantages of wood cladding for the facades of apartment blocks

Wood cladding combined with external insulation, preferably bio-sourced, improves the thermal insulation of buildings and meets the requirements of current environmental regulations.

Larch wood cladding is renowned for its exceptional durability and weather resistance. Two essential factors for multi-family housing projects where maintenance is a key issue.

Choosing saturated wood cladding has the advantage of low maintenance costs over time compared with other types of finish such as woodstain, paint or varnish. Sivalbp saturated finishes do not peel or flake and do not require stripping or sanding.

All our Larch wood cladding comes from ecologically responsible forests and is PEFC certified.

Fire regulations for timber constructions

French fire regulations impose fire behaviour constraints on the installation of wood cladding in public buildings and collective housing. Wood cladding is subject to the European Construction Products Regulation (CPR) of 9 March 2011. Among other things, the CPR requires proof of reaction to fire using the European EUROCLASSES classification in accordance with standard NF EN 13501-1. Products are classified as A, B, C, D and E, with A being the best classification for fire resistance.

At Sivalbp, we offer Euroclass C and D wood cladding to meet the fire requirements of different types of building, as in the case of the multi-family housing project in Cergy. To find out more about the reaction to fire of wood cladding, read our article.
