Wood cladding for the renovation of an old farmhouse in the UK
Clad in Sivalbp timber cladding, focus on the renovation and refurbishment of an old farmhouse in the UK.
Located in the UK's Herefordshire countryside, this renovation project is being carried out by JDW Building & Conservation in partnership with Warren Benbow Architects and Vincent Timber Ltd for the supply of the timber cladding. The main barn was wrapped and encapsulated in an outer shell clad in wood and metal cladding to bring modern, contemporary lines to the old farmhouse.
Renovation using Nordic Pine EcoThermo wood cladding: for sustainable, attractive façades
For this project to renovate an old farmhouse in the UK, we chose wood cladding from our Vintage range in Nordic Pine EcoThermo, in our Café 106 saturator (the old colour has been replaced by our Café 111 saturator), for its durability and aesthetic appeal.
The exterior wood facade contrasts with the metal facade, adding a resolutely contemporary touch to this detached house. The matt black wood cladding is reminiscent of the farmhouses of yesteryear.
The wood cladding chosen for the exterior of the main house is Nordic Pine EcoThermo, known for its exceptional durability and weather resistance. Here are the main benefits of Ecothermo wood cladding:
- Environmentally-friendly: this process is eco-responsible and requires no added chemicals.
- Dimensional stability: this process gives the boards greater dimensional stability, reducing the risk of warping.
- Long-lasting: this process gives exterior façades greater aesthetic durability.
- Neutralises resin pockets: this process reduces the phenomenon of resin rejection.
- Extreme conditions: this process provides increased resistance to bad weather, so the cladding can be installed in all types of climate, even the most extreme.
All our EcoThermo Nordic Pine cladding comes from ecologically responsible forests and is PEFC certified. Consult our guide dedicated to pine wood cladding to find out about
