Larch wood cladding for the construction of a school complex in Seine-et-Marne (77)

With Sivalbp wood cladding, here's a look back at the Coupvray school project in the Paris region.

Located at the heart of the new Coupvray (77) mixed development zone, the school project was imagined and designed by the archi5 architectural practice. Winner of the competition in 2017, the school group project was completed in summer 2021.

Why choose wood cladding for the facade of a public building (ERP)?

When it comes to public buildings, the maintenance and upkeep of façades is a major concern. Yes to a wooden façade, but how can you avoid the chore of stripping, brushing and treating the wood?

For this school project, we opted for saturated wood cladding to facilitate the upkeep and maintenance of the façade in future years. Our wood cladding from our Elegance range has the advantage of requiring very little maintenance. Without special maintenance, the façade will turn a natural grey. To revive the original colour of the façade, simple cleaning and maintenance every 5 to 6 years will suffice, depending on the exposure of the façade. No stripping or sanding is required before applying the saturator to restore the original colour of the façade. To find out more, read our article on maintaining wood cladding.
