Could you tell us a bit about your business?

"My Lovely Nature is a builder specialising in timber-framed single-family homes and small commercial buildings with bio-sourced insulation. Using an industrialised prefabrication process, our timber-frame walls are designed to combine performance and durability. Based in Nantes, our company covers the departments of the Pays de la Loire region: Loire-Atlantique (44), Maine-et-Loire (49), Vendée (85) and Morbihan (56).  My Lovely Nature team is part of the Alliance Group, guaranteeing expertise and innovation."

What is your expertise in wood cladding?

"At My Lovely Nature, we make a clear distinction between the structure of the house and the external cladding. The structure of our timber-frame houses incorporates the insulation, 75% of which is made from three materials: wood fibre, cellulose wadding and recycled cotton. This combination ensures optimum thermal performance in both winter and summer.
To clad the façade, we offer a variety of claddings with a ventilated air space: wood, zinc, aluminium, fibre-cement panels or plaster. These choices allow our customers to personalise their homes according to their tastes and desires. We also encourage the combination of different materials to create a unique look.
Our attachment to quality wood is central. The cladding we select must meet our requirements for durability, ease of maintenance and aesthetic appeal, because it refletcs the reputation and quality of our creations."

In your opinion, what are the advantages of wood cladding?

"To guarantee a lasting aesthetic effect, we prefer wood cladding that meets strict criteria:

  • The species chosen: French Douglas fir is favoured by our customers for its local origin and low environmental impact.
  • PEFC certification: This guarantees sustainable forest management and limited carbon impact.
  • Heartwood: We select wood that has been purged of sapwood, offering natural durability and fewer knots.
  • Core treatment: This reinforces the wood's strength and stability.
  • The profil and installation: We offer vertical or horizontal installation with invisible fixing.
  • The finition: The use of non-film-forming saturators preserves the natural appearance of the wood while ensuring harmonious ageing.

Our customers particularly appreciate the New Age range, which, with its grey saturants, anticipates natural greying for a uniform, aesthetically pleasing finish".

Can you share some of your wood cladding projects with us?

"My Lovely Nature's flagship cladding is Douglas Solea New Age #Gris 102 from Sivalbp. Very popular, it accounts for almost 50% of our projects. Its durability and low-maintenance appeal to our customers, who find, year after year, that it ages perfectly and develops a natural patina. Some of our customers also opt for Ecothermo nordic pine cladding in the New Age collection in #Irisé108 or the Vintage collection in #Café 111, which is appreciated for its warm, unique look.
